We are thrilled to announce that Bee Adventures CIC has been awarded a generous grant from the prestigious Westminster Foundation.
This funding, which runs from school terms 2024 - 2025, will be dedicated to launching our Primary Student Adventure Programme in Lancaster and Morecambe. This initiative is designed to make a significant impact on the lives of primary school-aged children, particularly those who face challenges with school attendance, behaviour and poor mental health.
About the Grant
The Westminster Foundation, under the leadership of the Duke of Westminster and its Trustees, has recognised the importance of our work in the community. The Foundation's support underscores the vital role that outdoor education and nature-based activities play in the development and well-being of young people. As part of their commitment to monitoring the effectiveness of their grant-giving, we will be providing an annual report detailing how the funds have been utilised and the outcomes achieved.
The grant will help us achieve the following key outcomes:
Increased school attendance: By engaging students in exciting outdoor activities, we aim to motivate them to attend school more regularly.
Development of skills for mental health: Our programme will teach children essential skills for self-regulating emotions and managing their mental health.
Improved mental health and well-being: Through active participation in nature-based adventures, students will experience enhanced mental health and overall well-being.
The Impact
At Bee Adventures CIC, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. This programme is not just about having fun in the outdoors; it’s about helping children who may be at risk of exclusion develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed in life. By focusing on self-regulation, emotional management, teamwork and communication, we aim to create lasting positive changes in their lives.
Thanks to the Westminster Foundation, we are now equipped to bring these experiences to children who need them most, making a tangible difference in their education and well-being.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Primary Student Adventure Programme and the impact it will have on our community. We are excited to embark on this journey and look forward to sharing our successes with you!
